Privacy Policy
StreamLens ("we", "us", or "our") builds a livestreaming app for Meta Ray-Ban and Ray-Ban Display glasses. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the StreamLens mobile app or streamlens.app website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account info — when you sign in with Apple, Google, or Twitch, we receive your name, email address, and a unique provider ID. We store these to identify your account.
- Streaming platform connections — when you link Twitch, YouTube, or Kick, we receive an OAuth access token and your channel/username. We use these only to publish your streams and read chat back into the app.
- Waitlist signups — if you submit your email on our marketing site, we store the email and a source tag (e.g. "hero") so we can email you when the app opens up.
Information collected automatically
- Device push token — if you allow notifications, we store an opaque token issued by Apple so we can send you alerts.
- Glasses pairing data — when you pair Meta glasses, we store the device ID, battery level, and firmware version so the app can reconnect to your device.
- Session metadata — for each go-live we log the platform, start/end time, peak viewer count, and stream title. We use this for your in-app history and aggregate analytics.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not record, store, or transmit video frames from your glasses to our servers. Frames travel from your glasses to your phone and out to your streaming platform of choice (Twitch/YouTube/Kick).
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
2. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account.
- To publish your streams to platforms you have explicitly connected.
- To deliver in-app notifications about your streams, chat, and account.
- To improve the app (anonymized, aggregated usage stats).
- To respond when you contact us at hello@streamlens.app.
3. Who we share with
StreamLens relies on a small set of trusted infrastructure providers. Each only sees the data needed for their specific job.
- Google Firebase — authentication, push delivery, and our user database. Data is stored in US-region Google Cloud.
- Apple, Google, Twitch — the sign-in provider you choose receives a sign-in request and returns your identity back to us. We never see your password.
- Meta Platforms — the Meta Wearables SDK runs on your phone to talk to your glasses. We use it locally; we do not send your stream content to Meta.
- Vercel — hosting for streamlens.app.
We may also disclose information if required by law (court order, subpoena) or to protect the safety of users.
4. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account — email us at hello@streamlens.app and we will delete your account and associated data within 30 days.
- Disconnect a streaming platform — you can revoke Twitch/YouTube/Kick access from inside the app or from that platform's connected-apps settings.
- Turn off notifications — toggle notifications in iOS Settings → StreamLens.
- GDPR / CCPA — if you live in the EU/UK or California, you have a right to access, correct, or export your data. Email us.
5. Security
We use TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest with our providers, and Firebase Authentication for sign-in. No system is perfect; please use a strong, unique password on your sign-in provider.
6. Children
StreamLens is not intended for users under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will remove the account.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where reasonable, notify you in-app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
